Innocence Never Spoken
Dec 20, 2002

The following was written by my granddaughter who will be 14 next month. Her uncle died of a heroin overdose. She is reflecting on what she sees with kids her age at school.

Innocence Never Spoken
NicholeC

Look at their world
Pointless and Broken
weed, sex, and violence
Innocence never spoken

What brought them to this?
Don't they even care?
Brains and Beauty absent
There is nothing there

Watch them on the street
But keep identity hidden
smoking cells away
point of life is ridden

Don't dare say a word
Keep your eyes shaded
life thet're not really living
every day debated

Study their world
abusive and broken
drugs sex and violence
innocence never spoken
