A Time For Remembering

A time for remembering,
Sharing our sorrow with others.
A feeling of closeness with strangers.
Light a candle for those we love.
We feel each others pain.
We share the stages of grief.
We can truly empathize,
For this is something we understand.
None of us want to be here.
Our lives were cozy and secure before.
Now nothing ever feels right.
We drown in a sea of sadness.
Each of us has our own story.
Each loss is different yet is the same.
Parents facing the most difficult thing in life,
Dealing with the death of a child.
Lighting a candle seems a small thing.
For us it is a time of honoring our child's life.
It is healing knowing we are not alone.
We will light a candle in remembrance with others.
