Life Will Go On

Life Will Go On
LindaC

Where does one go from here?
How does one find the will to go on?
Life is sometimes so very difficult
For those of us who are left behind.

Sadness covers us like a veil.
Depression is a constant companion.
We don't care about anything.
It is all just too much to deal with.

Eventually storm clouds lift to reveal a brighter day.
We begin to think that life is a possibility again.
Then we are felled by a hastily spoken word,
And pain grasps a toehold on our hearts.
We shut ourselves off from the world and hurt.

Life has become tedious.
It is so terribly hard to find direction,
To find a life with purpose again.
It is easier to allow ourselves to slip away.

Someday we will find a new peace and contentment.
We will be able to handle the pain.
Yes, life does go on, not always for us though.
Someday, we will find the way.
