Coping Through Pain
Nov 24, 2002

Hi, my name is Joyce and I lost a daughter on the 25 day of Oct.2001. That is a day i will never forget. They came to our door about noon and said they had found a young lady dead about seven that morning. They started asking us about Krista and was describing her to us. I knew it was her from the description. All I could do was scream,it can't be true, it just can't be her. My sister who was a dispatcher at the police station said Joyce it is Krista. I already know. I just had to be hear for you when you were told. Our whole life changed that day.Krista was 26 and had 2 children, divorced, living at home with her dad and myself. She was taking drugs, all kinds, more than we knew. The children lived with their dad. They didn't live here. That one night she just mixed the wrong combination of stuff together and she just went to sleep and never woke up. This is the hardest thing a parent will ever face. you think it won't happen to you,but it does and it did. The pain, grief, guilt, and lose is more sometimes than we can deal with. But we have to keep on living, but I miss her so bad and it hurts so much. I've cried, so much. The pain and lose will be with us until the day we die. It has been over a year now and it is not any better. I don't think this is something you ever get over. You go on with your life and say you are coping, but deep down you know it's not so.Life is hard for the strongest of us and it will never be the same. We have two other children and we do the best we can, but especially on holidays it is bad. But with the Lords help we will get through it in time. may God bless all of you parents out there who have lost a child. We know how you feel, we've walked that same road and in the same footsteps. If you need to talk I'm here for you. Joyce
