Comforting Words
Nov 20, 2002

I lost my brother (paul, aged 29) in june this year (2002) in a car crash, and came here to find some inspiration to help me get back on track, ive been prescribed anti-depressants and counselling but the biggest healer is finding someone to talk to with the same feelings inside. I (neil, 17)am quite a religious person and wondered if some people out there might find these poems comforting, i did,

I am\happy home in heaven dear ones,
Oh so happy and so bright.
there is joy and there is beauty
in this everlasting light.
All the pain and grief is over,
Every restless tossing past,
I am now in peace for ever,
safely home in heaven at last.

Did you wonder why so calmly,
I trod the valley of the shade?
Oh! but Jesus' love illuminated every fearful glade.
And he came himslef to meet me
in the way so hard to tread,
And with Jesus' arm around me could i have ine doubt or dread?

Then you must not grieve so sorely,
For i love you dearly still,
Try to look beyond Earth's shadows,
Pray to trust our father's will.

There is work still waiting for you,
So you must not idly stand,
Do it now while life remaineth,
You shall rest in Jesus' land.

When that work is all completed
he will gently call you home,
Oh the rapture of that meeting!
Oh the Joy to see you come!
