Reflections
LindaC

Reflections of pain seen in other eyes.
We recognize the hurt that is there.
The look is all too familiar.
We know it all too well.

We feel the anguish, we see the hurt.
It is like seeing ourselves in a mirror.
We fell the unbearable pain.
We revisit it once again.

Life seems terribly unfair.
We mourn the loss of our children.
How do we make it without them?
No one understands the pain that we feel.

We are members of a club we did not wish to join.
All are joined by a common bond, death.
We have been left behind to grieve.
Life has become so terribly hard.

I see the reflection of where I've been
When I look at others in grief.
We are travellers bonded together
On the long, hard road of grief.
