Leaving Sorrow Behind

I am leaving sorrow behind.
I will always miss you and I will be sad
But I will leave sorrow behind
And will seek days of happiness.
Small doses of laughter
Are medicine for happier days.
It helps to heal a grieving heart
And gives me hope for the future.
Someday soon I will live life fully.
I'll be able to greet each new day with a smile.
I'll have sunshine and rainbows.
I won't have pain and tears.
The clouds that leave me desolate
Do not threaten me at all.
I have learned how to live life again
And my healing has begun.
