Our Miracle, Our Angel
Nov 13, 2002

Our Miracle, Our Angel
When we found out we were expecting our 4th child we were both excited and scared.. I had lost 2 babies due to miscarrige in 1993 and almost lost our daughter Megan in 1996. When I was 4 months preg. we found out our unborn son Andrew would be born with congenital Hydrocephalus (Water on the Brain) The drs. gave us little if any hope he would ever lead a happy "Normal" life. On Dec. 10th 1996 our little Miracle Andrew came into our world a fighter... His first year was hard but through many prayers and much love Andrew's smile proved the drs all wrong. He walked, talked but most of all he loved to sing. He would sing for hours.. He grew beyond all expectations....He was our Miracle... Sadly our story does NOT have a fairy tale ending.. On Jan 9th 2001 our world as we have known it stopped forever.. Andrew passed away due to aspirating on vomit while he had the flu.. Sometimes it is so hard for me to except that he went through 7 surgerys many of them being life threatening and then pass away due to something that had NOTHING to do with his condition...
Almost 2 yrs later I sit here and wonder how Ive made it through each day.. Some days seem like FOREVER since Ive touched him and other days they pain feels like I just lost him yesterday..
Not a day goes by I dont miss my boys... Wonder what it would be like to have all 4 of my children safe and warm in bed at night... I must trust someday I will be with Andrew again and see his smiling face but until then... he will live through me... ALWAYS and FOREVER...

Poem and Memorial Site below...

Angel Andrew

God created the heavens and the wind in the trees
He gave us sun in the morning and the big bumble bees
After all this beauty, God still wasen't through
So he created a angel, and named him Andrew

Andrew came to us one day in December
A small fragil angel we'd always remember
This Little one needed so much just to live
No one could image how much he would give

This small little Angel showed us a way
To find the joy of living each and everyday
Asking the question "What is your name?"
Forever our lives were never the same.

A few favorite things this angel had too,
like chewing gum, thin mints and cold Mt. Dew,
Pennies in the pockets of his worn overals,
and rides on a cycle with his loving grandpa.

This Angel named Andrew, So loved you could see
by Mommy, Daddy and his whole family.
He thrived and he grew beyond all expectation,
this work of the heart, Gods lovley creation.

Then, as God planned he called Andrew home.
But he promised the family they were never alone
See, Love is a spirit that grows within you,
as we live every hour, we remember... Andrew

Though we can't kiss him or caress his sweet face,
We can still one day see him in a beautiful place,
Where all children are happy and angels abound-
This is where our little Andrew is found.

Living on Earth just wont be the same
without our little Angel, Andrew's his name.
Someday we will find him, when its our name God calls-
We will see our Angel with pennies in the pockets of his worn overals.
