Am I Grieving Enough?
Sep 19, 2002

Am I Grieving Enough?
LindaC

Am I grieving enough for you?
What would you have me do?
Should I scream and weep?
Will you judge me if I don't?

Do you think you have the corner on grief?
Is your pain more intense than mine?
Allow me to grieve in my own private way.
What's right for you may not be for me.

I grieve differently than you.
It is different every day.
At times, crying is all I can do.
At others, it is a pain kept locked inside.

Don't think my grief is less
Just because I don't let you see me cry.
My emotions are a private thing
I lock up in order to go on.

You may not see a visible face to my grief.
I try to keep it hidden deep inside.
But, I grieve, oh how I grieve.

You may think I am strong and brave
But, I grieve, oh how I grieve!
