Today I Smiled
Sep 10, 2002

Today I Smiled
Lindac

I have had so many days of tears
I thought that I would never smile again
My heart is wrenched with pain
But today i smiled

I hold on to things of beauty
A dragonfly in glistening blue
A butterfly quietly flitters by
And today I smiled

Beautiful music makes me cry
Yet it fills my heart with joy
Beauty can be found everyday
And today I smiled

The thought of friends and what they mean
This is truly the best kind of wealth
A treasure that money can't buy
And today I smiled

So many tears have come from the heart
Some days, unbearable pain
Sadness oft overwhelms me
Yet today I smiled

When I am feeling so terriblydown
When life becomes too weary to bear
I hold on to the things of beauty
And know I'll smile again

Yes, today I smiled
